Ford began manufacturing tractors in 1939 with the 9N model. In Europe Ford had already been producing tractors under their “Fordson” brand for 20 years and these two brands remained until their merger in 1964 to form a single worldwide brand.

In 1985 Ford purchased New Holland forming the Ford-New Holland brand. Five years later Ford’s farm equipment group was acquired by Fiat who then began phasing out the Ford name.
